Silver Springs Kayak and SUP MEETUP (1)

About the event:

We will meet at Silver Springs State Park in Ocala, FL at noon to launch no later than 1pm.  

We will drift style paddle 4.5 miles down current to Ray Wayside County Park. From here we will take the shuttle back up to Silver Springs state park where we started.  The wildlife that we have the chance of seeing include: MANATEES, GATORS, TURTLES, BIRDS, TURKEYS, and MONKEYS.  

Captain Scotty will show you some of his favorite spots along the way and some of the things that he loves most about Florida.    

Rentals are included in our hosted public meetup! We offer Tandem Kayaks, Single Person Clear Bottom Kayaks and non-inflatable Paddle boards.  Park admission, Launch Fee and Shuttle Fee, and Rentals are all included in the Hosted Meetup price of $75 per person.    

If you have your own board or sup, join us for free!! The more the merrier. Fees that you will be responsible for include $2 park entree fee, $4 launch fee and the $15 shuttle fee.  This can all be paid for in one transaction at the kayak launch booth. Please note, there is a 3-5 mile per hour current on the river,  so paddling back upstream is for experienced paddlers only, and you must leave enough time to get back before dark.

If you would like to use one of our TANDEM KAYAKS, SINGLE PERSON CLEAR BOTTOM KAYAKS, or SUPS, please book online using this event page.   If you rent with us all you have to do is show up, hop on and have a great time.  You are paying for us to take care of everything for you so you can relax, chill and enjoy a day in the nature and meet new friends. Lena will pay all the fees for you, and Scotty will launch your boat for you, so all you have to do is show up and bring your snacks and paddle arms.   

Please reserve your spot before noon on Friday February 23rd so we can gather up all the gear we need for the adventure.   We can transport  6 Clear Bottom Kayaks, 2 Tandem Kayaks and 6 SUPs (not inflatable), so book now to reserve your spot for this fun meetup adventure.     

What to wear/bring:    

Recommended Clothing Wear: 

- Shorts or stretchy yoga pants with a short sleeved shirt and long sleeved shirt 

- Wear layers in case the sun is in and out of the clouds 

- We always recommend wearing clothes as sun protection instead of using lotions and sprays, as sunscreen products typically have toxins that pollute the waters and are harmful to marine life, plus they only last a few hours and you still get burnt when it wears off.  

- A hat or visor 

- Polarized sunglasses to see marine life underwater  

Bring:  

- Light snacks in Tupperware. Items that can become trash or litter are not allowed on the river.  

- Water or a hydrating drink in a reusable tumbler.     

DO NOT BRING: 

- Alcohol or illegal drugs 

- Anything you don't want to get wet 

- Pets 

- Bad Attitudes  

Upon Arrival: Park anywhere, come to the kayak launch area.
